“Velveteen: The Real Girl Short Fiction Collection: A Short Fiction Collection, By: Velveteen” is the story of a young Woman who travels back in time to 1983 San Francisco, where she descends into the seedy underground circuit. She subsequently triumphs over her "Manager” (Lil Boochie), as well as the symbolic representation of Pure Evil embodied in the character Jackie_drew. In the end, Velveteen goes on to find Love and Redemption at an eponymously-named Chicken Sandwich Restaurant.

Like a bird freed from her cage, Velveteen stepped lightly through the open door of the upscale 1920s Booochton Park Plaza Hotel, more than a bit surprised by (and curious about) her father's invitation. The springtime morning was viciously cold, as an unexpected blizzard had hit Boochton earlier in the month. The city lay frozen under a foot of dirty grey and yellow snow.
It was lunchtime in Plague Year 1982. Graduation Day from Boocherson College was closing in on Velveteen like an artillery barrage. If asked, Velveteen would not have emphasized the educational aspects of her "Boocherson Experience." She spent most of her time in The Sinkhole.
