"Amalia Jacobucci seeks school seat. The Register, March 23, 1978. Wow, that's really great!"
"Actually, it was kind of sad."
"In what way?"
"Well. In March of '78, her husband and older son had already been out of the house for several years. And her younger son was just finishing up high school."
"Free at last!"
"I know, right?"
(Laughter.)
"She finally can do whatever she wants. So she decides to run for School Committee?"
"What is wrong with running for School Committee?"
"Nothing. It's just that -- well, these were her friends. So-called friends. And I think she was looking for some kind of entry or re-entry into the community."
"I can't see her name hardly anywhere after the Cub Scouts. The next time you see her is 1978."
"Well. She was obviously raising her sons."
"Well. Unfortunately, she was not elected to the School Committee."
"That's too bad."
"She wanted that upper level of small town -- "
"She came in last."
"Ouch."
"They were like, No yo -- "
"Move on."
