"What must that have been like for her?"
"What?"
"When her husband's article came out?"
"Casework Treatment of the Neglectful Mother?"
"Yes."
"Well. She and her family visited her very Italian parents, and her husband's very Italian parents, and all the Italian aunts and uncles and cousins, in Connecticut, that Easter weekend."
"So?"
"So. Her father had never had any use for her, because she was a girl. And she didn't like men very much. To say the least. And now here she is, eighteen years in. Marriad to a man she totally doesn't hate at all. Raising his two sons. In addition to President-ing the Centerville Kindergarten Association. And Den Mother-ing the Cub Scouts. Where her husband is literally Cubmaster."
"Cubma -- ?"
"When he's not at The Agency. Whatever that is. Or the Unitarian Church. And then, he comes out with Casework Treatment of the Neglectful Mother?"
"Seems like the perfect time to visit the in-laws."
"In any case, it's time to forget the past and move on."
