“Velveteen: The Real Girl Short Fiction Collection: A Short Fiction Collection, By: Velveteen” is the story of a young Woman who travels back in time to 1983 San Francisco, where she descends into the seedy underground circuit. She subsequently triumphs over her "Manager” (Lil Boochie), as well as the symbolic representation of Pure Evil embodied in the character Jackie_drew. In the end, Velveteen goes on to find Love and Redemption at an eponymously-named Chicken Sandwich Restaurant.

"So It Seems Like An Awful Lot of Characters!"

"Well, we just have to get started."

"Well, the main thing about my mother is that her father had no use for her because she was a girl. This was back in the 1920s and 1930s in New Haven, Connecticut. This is all according to my father, who had a knack for explaining away the most heinous behavior as if he had nothing to do with it."

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, in attempting to explain certain events in our family history, my father would be all like, oh,, you have to understand what happened to people, what was done to them, that made them they way they were as adults. My mother was the she was because her father had no use for because she was a girl. My mother's mother was the way she was because she had been given away as a child."

"And on and on, down through the generations."

"I suppose."

"So, if you refer back to the original source material, --- "
