The first four articles of the <pecial town meeting warrant, all of which were overwhelmingly favored last Friday night, are boms submitted this weekend to the State Attorney General for study and approval,

Town Clerk Howard W. Sears is soing in person to Attorney General Hrookr-s office with the official report on the special meeting and all data pertaining to the zoning and anti-noise by-laws. Before these become law their legality must b e approved by the Attorney General and his decision published. His decision must be made within 90 days,

On Artlcie 2, a substitute motion was unanimously voted following recommendation by Paul Lebel as chairman of Barnstable Planning Board that the useBarnstable Harbor area be rezoned Marine Business and not Village Business as originally petitioned for. During discussion, Dexter Leon, president of Barnstable Village Civic Association, pointed out that almost $400,000 had been spent by the town to improve the harbor area and that it should be kept for townspeople to enjoy. Austin VanDuzer, son ol the operator of Barnstable Marine Service on which land builders propose to erect a 100-unit motel, stated that the land had been zoned for business for years—"yet when the opportunity arises to sell it—boom, you want to change the rules." Replying t this, Frank Hinckley of Cummaquld said, "If we don't pass this zoning now, we may not even have room left to park our cars there. The town has put $380, 000 in the previous speaker's front yard—now he wants to put it to a non-marine use. Scudder's Lane and the marina are the only two places in the village to launch a boat. We must think hard to preserve this area and not let it go for a present day real estate grab. As voted. Marine Business would allow building, sale, rental, storage and repair of boats; retail sale of marine, fishing and boating supplies, fishing bait, fish and shellfish. Operation of commercial fishing business would not include commercial canning or processing of fish. With special permit from the appeals board a restaurant could be operated . Lot sizes and yards would be the same as in Village Business. Elimination of a portion
