“Velveteen: The Real Girl Short Fiction Collection: A Short Fiction Collection, By: Velveteen” is the story of a young Woman who travels back in time to 1983 San Francisco, where she descends into the seedy underground circuit. She subsequently triumphs over her "Manager” (Lil Boochie), as well as the symbolic representation of Pure Evil embodied in the character Jackie_drew. In the end, Velveteen goes on to find Love and Redemption at an eponymously-named Chicken Sandwich Restaurant.

Plans grow for Health Institute

Caleb E. Wallace of 2 Cadet Ln., West Yarmouth, has been named assistant director of group underwriting in the Boston home office of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was recently honored as group insurance production leader at a national meeting in Florida. He was formerly assistant manager in the New York office.

Dr. Norman M. Starosta of Falmouth, President of the Cape Cod Dental Society, will be one of the featured speakers at a Health Institute to be held at the Wychmere Harbor Club ln Harwich Port on May 31, 1967. Dr. Starosta will discuss technological advances ln the field of dentistry, as well as the economic aspects of dental care, Including dental pre-payment plans. Sponsored by the Cape Cod Community Council, the all-day Health Institute is under the chairmanship of Miss Mary Suslch, County Health Officer, and has as Its theme "Health Services on Cape Cod - What is New - What Next". Dr. Leona Baumgartner of Harvard Medical School, Dr.LeonSternfeld of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and Mrs. Rachel Pentl, Director of Nursing at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, are also giving major addresses. The Community Council is now mailing 2000 announcements of the Institute to persons in health and related fields. The program and registration forms will be mailed soon.
