“Velveteen: The Real Girl Short Fiction Collection: A Short Fiction Collection, By: Velveteen” is the story of a young Woman who travels back in time to 1983 San Francisco, where she descends into the seedy underground circuit. She subsequently triumphs over her "Manager” (Lil Boochie), as well as the symbolic representation of Pure Evil embodied in the character Jackie_drew. In the end, Velveteen goes on to find Love and Redemption at an eponymously-named Chicken Sandwich Restaurant.

The Art - in - Action winners' works have been on display during the past two weeks in several downtown Hyannis business es - tablishments, and both artists and Downtown Hyannis are looking forward to the fall Harvest Days when students will be invited to paint harvest scenes on the windows of DHA member stores. In the high school, winners were Kathy Bloom, first prize; Nona Petrovls, second, and Leesa Boy ne, third. Honorable mentions went to Nancy Olistfi, Stanton Cameron and Mark Qlista. Winning top award at the junior high was Jeffery Zimmerman, with Vicki Kapp placing second and Frank Mehaffey, third. Honorable mentions were given Martin Weichels, Walter Pollock and Beverly Lang. At the elementary level a first place was awarded David Rexford with Charles Bolanoff and Mary Bourbeau, second and third respectively. Honorable mentions included Holly Simpkins, Ernest Audino and Andrew Jacobucci.
