Barnstable voters will be selecting two candidates from a field of seven for a three-year term on the School Committee at the elections April 11. It promises to be perhaps the liveliest race after selectman.
Candidate Amalia (Toby) Jacobucci, 97 Brezner Lane, Centerville, feels "competency, accountability and back-tobasics" are the most imporant issues in this year's campaign. Jacobucci holds a B.A. and M.A. in sociology and is a certified school librarian with three years of library experience. She has been a substitute teacher for many years and is currently an employment counselor with an emphasis on job development and training programs. Her two sons were educated in the Barnstable school system and she has a "continuing interest" in the high school Speech Club and Performing Arts.
